More: The annual Championship started in 1979, with women's competition starting in 1996

Fun Fact: Bangkok has never hosted the event before, although Pattaya hosted for Thailand in 2009.

What: The 2015 UWW World Wrestling Championships

Where: Las Vegas, United States

When: September 07 - 15, 2015

More: The annual event features eight weight divisions across each of men's and women's freestyle, and men's greco-roman disciplines, plus team awards in each.

Fun Fact: In last year's event in Uzbekistan, Russia topped the medal table with 15, and coming in the top two in each team event.

Where: Doha, Qatar

When: May 06 - 10, 2015

More: This is the 28th Senior Asian Championships, and the first to be held in Qatar.

Fun Fact: Japan and China have split the women's freestyle team titles since the start of women's competition in 1996. Overall, Iran is the leading all-time medal winner across all divisions, with 317 medals and 30 team titles.

Fun Fact: The Marshall Islands first joined FILA (the previous name for the world governing body) in 2004, and is hosting
