Who Won The 2024 IIHF Men's Ice Hockey World Championship?
This top Championship Division event featured 16 national teams: Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and United States.
Entering 2024, Team Canada led the all-time medal table in victories and overall podium finishes, with 28 and 53, respectively. But the Canadians would find themselves surprisingly off the podium this year, with a semifinal loss against Team Switzerland and a bronze medal match loss against Team Sweden.
That left the door open to Team Czech Republic to take their seventh overall title (13th counting Czechoslovakia's titles) after a 2-0 win over Team Switzerland, led by Czech David Pastrnak's third period goal to break a scoreless draw.
