More:
The event was first held in 2007, and occurs in alternate years opposite the African Nations Cup.

Fun Fact:
The Championship focuses on African players active on national teams and in national leagues; overseas players are not eligible to participate.

Australia, China, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, North Korea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Syria, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen

More:
Iraq is the defending champion from the inaugural event four years ago.

Fun Fact:
The top three finishers will qualify to the Olympics later in the year; this is the first time the event acts as a qualifier.

November 28:  The Africa U-23 Cup of Nations

Dakar and M,bour, Senegal

When:
November 28 - December 12, 2015

Competing:
Algeria, Egypt, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia, Zambia

More:
This is only the second edition of the tournament, which acts as the Olympic qualifier for the region. Gabon won the 2013 event.

Fun Fact:
The DR Congo was the original host for the tournament, but in March 2015, Senegal was asked to host. The top three teams will qualify for the Rio Olympics.

More: First held in 1985 for Under-16's, this is the sixteenth championship.

Fun Fact: Nigeria is the most successful nation, with five titles, including the latest 2013 championship. Brzail has three titles.

July 07:  CONCACAF Gold Cup

Where: 14 sites across the United States (Philadelphia hosts the final)

When: July 07 - 26, 2015

Competing: Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago, and the United States

More: The United States has hosted every edition of the Gold Cup (twice sharing with Mexico), which is held every two years, and is used as the regional North & Central American and Caribbean championship and selection for the Confederations Cup.

Fun Fact: Mexico and Jamaica are also invitees to the 2015 Copa America (South America's version), which ends three days before this tournament - presenting those national teams with significant roster dilemmas in two prominent competitions in the same year.
