The 16th edition of the indoor Worlds will be held in the U.S. for only the second time, after Indianapolis in 1987.

Fun Fact:
Mozambique's Maria Mutola holds the record for most medals, with nine - including seven golds - in the women's 800m between 1983 and 2008.

More: The Championships are held every two years, and are the biggest prize in athletics outside of the Olympics

Fun Fact: With 300, the United States is the top medal-winning nation in Championships history, followed by Russia (168) and Kenya (112).
