Condolences to family and fans of Hungarian water polo as this week sees two legends pass away. Gyorgy Karpati, three-time gold medalist passed away at age 84. In addition to his golds from Helsinki 1952, Melbourne 1956, and Tokyo 1964 (and a bronze from Rome 1960), Karpati was inducted to the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1982. And, another three-time champion (Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008), Tibor Benedek passed at age 47. Benedek also served as the national team's head coach at Rio 2016.
