More: This is the 36th edition of the tournament since 1978, now held biennially.

December 05:  Women's Field Hockey World League Final

What: The Argentina Hockey World League Final

Where: Rosario, Argentina

When: December 05 - 13, 2015

Competing: Argentina, Australia, China, Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Korea

More: The World League is a two-year competition culminating in an eight-team final; this edition featured 51 teams at the start. The eight finalists compete in round-robin and then  single elimination play to produce the champion.

Fun Fact: The World League semifinal rounds also served as Olympic qualifiers, with eight teams total earning a Rio berth. Due to the double-qualification from individual continental championships, the actual eight Olympic qualifiers from the semis were CHN, GER, ARG, ESP, NED, NZL, IND, and JPN.

November 28:  Men's Hockey World League Final

When: November 28 - December 06, 2015

Competing: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, India, Netherlands

More: The World League is a two-year tournament, with 56 teams entering the first round in this cycle for men.

Fun Fact: The semifinal rounds served as Olympic qualifiers for next year, as the three top teams in each semi half, provided not qualified as continental champions, earned a Rio berth.

October 17:  Oceania Cup (Field Hockey)

What: The Oceania Cup 

Where: Starford, New Zealand

When: October 17 - 25, 2015

Competing: Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Samoa (men and women)

More: The continental championship has been held every two years since 1999, with Australia winning every men's title to-date.

Fun Fact: If New Zealand upsets Australia and wins the men's competition, they will qualify for the Olympics. On the women's side, both New Zealand and Australia have already earned Rio berths.
