The top 16 ranked players participate in the annual tournament. Malaysia's Nicol David is the defending champion and the #2 seed entering this year's. Her final opponent from 2014, Egypt's Raneem el Weleily is the top seed for 2015.

Fun Fact:
A total of $185,000 in prize money is at stake ($28,900 for the winner)

More:
The event has been held every two years since 1967. England is the defending champion from 2013, defeating Egypt in the final in Mulhouse, France.

Fun Fact:
 Kuwait and Qatar are making their debuts. Australia has won the Championship eight times, the last in 2003.

More:
First held in 1976, 2015 marks the 37th version of the Championship for men. Egypt's Mohamed El Shorbagy enters as the top seed and defending champion.

Fun Fact:
A total of $325,000 in prize money is at stake ($48,000 for the winner).

Where: Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada

When: December 01 - 06, 2014

Competing: Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Colombia, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, United States

More: Egypt is the defending champion entering this year's event, after winning their second title (2008, 2010). This competition is held every two years, as opposed to the annual individual championships.

Fun Fact: The first official world team championship was in 1979, when Great Britain (the only time GBR competed as opposed to the individual home countries) won.
