When: July 09 - 12, 2015

More: 10 events: in addition to men's and women's elite Olympic distances, para-triathlon, junior, senior, and relay races to be held.

Fun Fact: Geneva also hosts an annual European Cup stop for triathlon.

Where: Kaiula-Kona, Hawaii, United States

When: October 11, 2014

More: Since 1978, the Ironman is renown as the ultimate triathlon, combining a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a full marathon. (Compared to the Olympic standard distances of .93 / 25 / 6.2) Over 2,000 athletes will compete over men's, women's, and physically challenged divisions in the annual event.

Fun Fact: Australia's Mirinda Carfrae has made it onto the podium the last five Championships: 1st in 2013, 3rd in 2012, 2nd in 2011, 1st in 2010, and 2nd in 2009. Her winning time of 8:52:14 in 2013 is the all-time course record for women, and she is the favorite for the 2014 title.

More: The Grand Final is the last stop of 8 races to determine the overall Triathlon world champion for men and women.

Fun Fact: Edmonton hosted the event in 2001, when it was known as the single championship race ITU Triathlon World Championship.
