More: Founded in 1989, the event is the mixed-team equivalent of the Fed / Davis Cups, with a singles match for women and men each, and a mixed doubles event. Competition is round-robin format, with the two group winners advancing to the final. France is teh defending champion.
Fun Fact: The tournament is named after Harry Hopman, one of Australia's tennis legends, who won 7 Grand Slam doubles titles in his career, in addition to 16 Davis Cup titles as captain.
