Fun Fact: The host venue Baluan Sholak Sport and Culture Palace, named after a Kazakh composer, singer, poet and wrestler (!), was built in 1967 on order from the 'State Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic'. It hosted the 2011 Asian Games as well.
