They Are The Champions: 2024 Bobsled And Skeleton Worlds

3/3/2024

Who Won The 2024 IBSF Bobsled and Skeleton World Championships?

Picture
The 2024 IBSF World Championships for bobsled and skeleton ended today after more than a week's competition in Winterberg. This was the fifth time the German town has hosted an edition of the championships, and the 25th time overall for Germany,

Host Team Germany entered 2024 as the overall medal table leader, followed by Teams Switzerland and Italy. In the last edition of the championships in 2023 in St. Moritz, the Germans again led the medal count with nine overall to second-place Team Great Britain's four.

In 2024, the Germans once more dominated, winning 15 of 21 available medals overall, and six of the seven titles. They swept the podium in three of the seven events (including both men's bobsled events), and won two of three podium spaces in two others. (So...what is the IBSF doing about increasing the opportunity for parity...?)

Congratulations to all the medalists! A quick recap is below, and complete results can be found online at ibsf.org.
