They Are The Champions: 2024 Team Table Tennis Worlds

2/25/2024

Who Won The 2024 ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships?

Picture
The 2024 World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals concluded today in Busan, South Korea after 10 days of competition. Normally held every two years as a stand-alone championship event from 2000, Busan was originally scheduled to host the 2020 edition, which was ultimately cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the last edition in 2022, Team China won both the men's Swaythling Cup and the women's Corillon Cup trophies to extend its streaks to 10 (men) and 14 (women) straight titles.

And...in 2024, it was Team China again in both events, extending their domination. And, star player Ma Long earned his 14th career world team gold, third-place all-time on the gold list.

Busan 2024 also served as a key Paris 2024 qualifier, with the national teams in the top eight for both men and women securing an Olympic berth: i.e., Teams Japan, South Korea, Portugal, Germany, Chinese Taipei, and Denmark for the men and Teams South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, and Romania for the women.

Congratulations to all the medalists! Complete results can be found online at worldtabletennis.com.
