The World Triathlon Sprint & Relay World Championships concluded this weekend in Hambiurg, Germany as part of the annual World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS). While the cumulative six-stop WTCS usually crowns individual world champions in the standard / Olympic triathlon distance, the mixed relay world champions were crowned at this one WTCS stop.

2024 marked the second time, after Montreal in 2022 and Hamburg 2023, that this scheduling format was used, holding the relay championship within the overall WTCS. Host Team Germany won the 2023 team relay title.

And the Germans successfully secured another title at home, with Henry Graf, Lisa Tertsch, Lasse Luhrs, and Annika Koch topping the field, including other podium finishers Teams Switzerland and New Zealand. Tercsh and Luhrs are scheduled to compete at Paris 2024...though with many Paris 2024-bound athletes skipping this event, it's unclear how much momentum might have been gained.
