Who are the 2022 BWF World Champions?
This was the first time Japan has hosted the championships, which are usually held every non-Olympic year. Indonesia (3 times), China (3), India (1), and Malaysia (1) are other Asian nations to have played host in previous editions.

A lot of notable results featured in the end...first, both singles competitions resulted in two-time winners: Viktor Axelsen's first men's single gold was in 2017, while Akane Yamaguchi's women's singles win was her second straight. Also, Team Malaysia won its first-ever badminton world title, in men's doubles, while Team China continued its winning streak in women's doubles with a perfect 9-0 finals record. Finally, the mixed doubles champions of Zheng Siwei & Huang Yaqiong won the third title, in straight games for the third time.
