Who Won The 2022 World Rowing Championships?

Competition at the 2022 World Rowing Championships concluded today after eight days of competition in Račice, Czech Republic. Held since 1962, this is the second time Račice has hosted (1993), and the first championships to be held since 2019's Ottensheim, Austria edition. Editions scheduled for 2020 in Bled, Slovenia and 2021 in Shanghai, China were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Although the Olympic Games' program currently only feature 14 events (seven per gender), the World Rowing Championships schedule includes a full spectrum of 20 events (10 per gender). Nine para-rowing events were also held. In the end, Team Great Britain topped the medal table with seven gold medals and 12 overall, followed Team Netherlands (11 overall) and Team Italy (9). A total of 21 nations won at least one medal.

Ancuța Bodnar & Simona Radiș won the Women's Double Sculls; Radiș would also win gold in the Eights

Yunxia Chen, Ling Zhang, Yang Lyu, & Xiaotong Cui won Women's Quadruple Sculls for Team China

Grace Prendergast (b) & Kerri Williams (s) took Women's Pair gold

Emily Craig (b) & Imogen Grant (s) won the Lightweight Women's Double Sculls title

Maria-Magdalena Rusu, Iuliana Buhuș, Adriana Ailincăi, Maria Tivodariu Mădălina Bereș, Amalia Bereș, Ioana Vrînceanu Simona Radiș, & Victoria-Stefania Petreanu gave Team Romania gold in the Women's Eights
