Who are the 2022 World Athletics Champions?
The 2022 World Athletics Championships - Oregon22 - ran from July 15 through this evening. Hosted by 'Track Town' Eugene, Oregon, this was the first edition of the championships to be held in the United States.
Team USA secured the highest-ever medal total at a Championships, with 33. Three world records were set: Sydney McLaughlin in the 400-Meter Hurdles, Tobi Aumusan in the 100-Meter Hurdles, and Mondo Duplantis in the pole vault. 29 nations won at least one gold. Kimberley Garcia Leon for Peru (!) was the only double-gold medalist in individual events. Allyson Felix finishes her World Championships career with 20 (!) medals total.
