This was the 19th edition of the quadrennial championship; the United States had won ten previous titles, and this 2022 title is its 11th. Team China finished second, after its 61-83 loss in the championship game, while Team Australia rebounded from a tough semifinal defeat to claim the bronze medal ahead of Team Canada. The rest of the standings in order behind those four are: Teams Belgium, Serbia, France, Puerto Rico, Japan, South Korea, Mali, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Congratulations to the champions from Team USA! In addition to the World Cup title, they also booked a spot at Paris 2024. with the win. The U.S.' A'ja Wilson was named tournament MVP, while teammate Chelsea Gray earned 'Player of the Game' for the final.
