Who Won The 2023 FIBA 3x3 World Cup?
The 3x3 World Cup featured separate competition for men's and women's teams of four players each (three on court, one reserve). Twenty teams were entered in each competition after a series of continental and qualifying tournaments.
Team France entered the event with the most medals in World Cup history (eight), while Team Serbia has the most championships (five). A total of 19 national teams have won at least one medal. Both entered 2023 as a defending champion; the French winning the women's title and the Serbians the men's in 2022.
And both teams had the opportunity to win gold again, each making their respective final in 2023. It was mixed fortunes in the end, though, as Team USA defeated the French 16-12 in the women's final, and Team Serbia winning over Team USA 21-19 for men's gold. This represents the sixth title for the Serbian men in eight editions, and it's the fifth title for star Dejan Majstorovic.
(p.s. Team Poland's Piotr Grabowski won the tournament's dunk contest...)
Congratulations to both champions! Complete results and coverage can be found online at fiba3x3.com.
