Who Won The 2023 FIS Alpine Ski World Championships?
This was the 47th edition of the championships since 1931, now held in off-numbered years. This was also the fifth time that France has hosted the event, after Chamonix (1937 & 1962), Grenoble (1968), and Val d'Isere (2009).
Competition events included men's and women's downhill, Super G, Giant Slalom, Slalom, Alpine combined, parallel giant slalom races, as well as a combined mixed team parallel.
Team Norway topped the overall medal table with nine, but Team Switzerland had three gold, led by star Marco Odermatt's two. Two other standout highlights of the championships were Team USA's Mikaela Shiffrin's three-medal performance, giving her a career 14 - second in history, as well as the first-ever winter sports championship medal for Team Greece (!) with AJ Ginnis' silver in the men's slalom.
