Who Won The 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships?
Originally scheduled for 2021 and delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this was the 44th edition of the championships, and the first since 2019 in Aarhus, Denmark. This was also only the third time the event has been held in the southern hemisphere, after 1988 in Auckland, New Zealand and 1996 in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
(And, correct cross-country running is not an Olympic event - it should be! - though it is common for long-distance track and road runners to cross-compete in the discipline.)
Team Kenya took home four senior titles, including both team titles for men and women. Team Ethiopia tied the Kenyans for five overall senior medals.
