Who Won The 2023 FIL Luge World Championships?
This is the fourth time that Oberhof has hosted the championships, having done so in 1973, 1985, and 2008 previously.
Nine senior events were held across men's and women's singles and doubles, plus a mixed team relay. Four senior sprint titles (in which emphasis is on start reaction to a signal) were awarded, as well four junior titles.
And...Team Germany dominated the competition on its home track, as expected - eight of nine gold medals, and 16 of 27 total. Team Austria's Jonas Muller won the men's singles title on the last day to break up the potential German sweep. The men's doubles team of Toni Eggert and Sacha Benecken was a triple gold medalist at these championships, while both Anna Berreiter and the women's doubles team of Jessica Degenhardt and Cheyenne Rosenthal both take home two golds.
