Who Won The 2023 IBA Men's World Boxing Championships?
Featuring a record prize fund including $200,000 U.S. for each gold medal winner, the championships featured 13 weight divisions for the men, from Minimumweight to Super Heavyweight categories. This year's event was also the first to award all losing quarterfinalists prize money, $3,000 U.S. each.
With the inclusion of athletes from both Russia and Belarus, with full team representation, the event faced a remarkable boycott from other nations, similar to the women's event earlier this spring. Boycotting national teams included the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Ireland, and of course Ukraine, amongst others.
With that absence of quality, the hosts from Team Uzbekistan romped to the the top of the overall medal table, with nine podium placements - including five gold - out of 13 weight classes. In any case, congratulations to all the champions! A photo gallery of all the winners is below. Complete results can be found online at ibasport.com.
