Who Won The World Men’s Curling Championship 2023?
13 national teams qualified for the championship, including from host Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and United States. Though Team Sweden has won the last four titles - and 11 overall, Team Canada owns the overall title race by far with 36 since its first in 1959.
All 13 played a round-robin format phase, with the top six proceeding to the elimination rounds. In the end, Team Scotland - skipped by skip Bruce Mouat with third Grant Hardie, second Bobby Lammie, and lead Hammy McMillan, Jr. - took the gold medal with a 9-3, 8-end win over Team Canada and its skip Brad Gushue. (p.s. skip Niklas Edin and Team Sweden, who scored the best play of the tournament, finished fifth after a playoff loss to the Canadians.)
