Who Won The 2023 World Athletics Road Running Championships?
Competition was held across half-marathon, 5K, and mile distances for both elite men and women. Previously, the World Half Marathon Championships were held separately, and last in 2020. Note, none of these road events are featured in the Olympics, but it is common for distance track Olympians to feature in championship road events as well.
Highlights? Beatrice Chebet winning her second world title of 2023, Peres Jepchichir winning her third half-marathon title, and world record runs from both Hobbs Kessler and Diribe Welteji. Team Kenya's five gold and 12 overall medals put it on top of the overall medal table.
