Who Won The 2023 IIHF Women's Ice Hockey World Championship?
This Championship Division event featured Teams Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, and United States. Other women's ice hockey division world champions for 2023 included Team Latvia (Division II, Group A), Team Belgium (Division II, Group B), Team Hong Kong (Division III, Group A), and Team Serbia (Division III, Group B). Two more champions - for Division I, Group A and Division I, Group B are still to be determined.
As expected, the Canadians and Americans met in the gold medal game for the 21st time in the 22-year history of the championship. In the end, Team USA won their tenth title 6-3 after a late-game flurry of three goals and a hat trick by captain Hilary Knight. Team Czech Republic won its second-straight bronze medal, 3-2 over Team Switzerland.
