Who Won The 2023 World Archery Championships?
Ten events were contested: individual and team events for men and women, plus a mixed team for both recurve and compound equipment. Entering Berlin 2023, Team USA led the all-time medal table with 137 overall, compared to second-place Team South Korea at 116. Though, the South Koreans had been at least tied as the top national team at every championships since 1997.
However, this year, the South Koreans failed to medal in either individual recurve event, and only earned three overall medals out of the championship's 30 total. The medal table winner? Team India, with its four overall podium places from compound events, including three gold. 17 national teams won at least one medal, including Luxembourg, Colombia, and Turkey and Czech Republic recurve individual golds.
Congratulations to all the winners! A quick recap of the champions is below, and complete results can be found online at worldarchery.sport. (Note, only recurve competition is included in the current Olympic program. Here's hoping that that might change for Los Angeles 2028...)
