Who Won The 2023 World Judo Championships?

Competition was held across seven weight categories for both men's and women's weight categories, plus a mixed team event. Team Japan entered the championships with by far the most medals overall across the history of all the championship versions, with 395. The Japanese also won this year's medal table, with 12 overall medals to arch nemesis Team France's eight. While the Japanese took the medal and the mixed team title, Teddy Riner and Clarisse Agbegnenou perhaps stole the show in the individual competition events for the French with an 11th and 6th individual world title, respectively.
Gold medalist judokas each won more than 20,000 Euro for individual events, and 72,000 Euro for the team event. Congratulations to all the champions! A photo gallery recap is below, and complete results can be found online at ijf.org.
